You can play music downloaded and stored in your device with the SXFI APP, without the AMP. This is intended to be a sampler of Super X-Fi you can try out. 

To access this sampler, you will need to plug-in the SXFI AMP once for activation. After this one-time activation, you can use the SXFI APP without the AMP.
